From Distillery to Ownership: A Guide to Private Cask Whisky Programs in India

In Scotland and Ireland, owning private cask whisky was once an obscure activity, but now it has gained traction in India, and Spirits and Rituals is leading the way to take brands, distilleries and individual buyers through this new frontier. Private Cask Whisky explained. Private cask whisky is the buying of individual casks of maturing whisky, in place of the finished product, directly from a distillery. The buyer receives his or her own particular cask and rights to the way it is bottled, labelled and ultimately placed on the market or consumed by the buyer.
